P5, P6 and P7 had a workshop from Fiona the Education Officer for Westminster Parliament.
The session helped pupils develop an understanding of democracy and how young people can engage and participate as active citizens in society. Connections between Westminster and the NI Assembly were explored and MPs and MLAs roles were explained. The session explored issues that are importantly to young people and pupils learned how they can make their voices heard as ‘active citizens’ in society.
